A decade ago, I founded Inlight Photos to pursue my passion as a photographer. That decision was made on my birthday and it changed my life forever. That decision pushed me out of my comfort zone to the unknown with uncertainties lurking from every corner.  Truth to be told, it wasn’t the easiest ride. There were many obstacles along the way and I supposed that’s how things roll in real life. Thoroughout the last decade of my journey, I fear, doubted myself and my decisions, went through countless ups and downs and even felt downright hopeless many a time. These were the obstacles that held me back but it was the same that made me stronger. I’ve learnt that it’s up to us to choose to see a tough episode in life negatively or positively.

Despite of all these, I’ve made it a point where in every 10-year cycle of my life, I will make a change, the change is the must. This year is the 10th year, beginning of 2018, I sat down to review, ponder, set new goals, dream new dreams for my life as well as rethink about my business plans. After some consideration in my business direction, its purpose and positioning, I decided to step out from my comfort zone again to build a new brand by Inlight Photos called ‘Joshua Koh Photography’. The aim is to continue to be one of the more passionate and influential photography services providers in Malaysia & overseas market. A boutique brand concept, ‘Joshua Koh Photography’ is created to connect a more personal experience with all.  A brand that honors to document many of life’s heartfelt, memorable and truthful moments, because it is these memories that will resonate through the rest of your life and the lives of those that come after yours. My work is rooted in a belief that a photograph is more than just what you see, but how you feel having seen it. A good photograph touches and connects the heart and leaves you a changed person.

I would like to take this opportunity to give thanks. I am really thankful for the people that have been encouraged and inspired me, my clients, family, pastors, church-mates, mentors, best friends and industry vendors. Because of them, I have never truly been walking alone in my life journey. And the most importantly, I appreciate my wife for her patient, support and prayers that have made me who I am today.

And I am sure this coming new decade, my Creator will still lead me as He has led me before. I thank God for the purpose and blue print He has placed into my heart as well as the abilities and talents He has given to me, I am learning to walk closer with Him, trust Him more and be faithful as His child, the light of the world.

His word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path as always. This is one of the bible verses that gives me hope when it seems hopeless…

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Bible, Joshua 1 : 9 (New International Version)

Here you go… Joshua Koh Photography!
